Shopping List

2012 January 24

… Toothbrushes (Batman, Transformers, Barbie), combs, kiddy floss, kid’s sparkle tooth paste, kid’s shampoo, kid’s hair de-tangler, shelf stable juice, animal crackers, and sandwich bread shaped like Goldfish!

Okay, so it’s not our normal grocery list… well, I guess it is now! Just like the Boy Scouts we want to always be prepared.

We ordered Bibles for each of the three nightstands, and will be ordering those again since they kids will be taking this with them when they go back home.

We’ve been collecting kids’ books on dinosaurs, the solar system, insects, wild life and the human body. Growing up, we used the library but also had books around the house. We were constantly leafing through them.

We picked up some children’s classics, like The Jungle Book and Black Beauty. We found some great bargains at Garden Ridge, and Target’s dollar section regularly has children’s versions of classics like Alice in Wonderland and The Time Machine.

When our local Borders closed we picked up quite a few bargains like some nicely illustrated classics, and a floor puzzle of the solar system. (I’ve also seen these for reasonable prices at TJ Max).

At Half Price Books we discover “World of Inventors” projects by Silver Dolphin. These are packed with brain stimulating projects from Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Edison, and others.

Don’t worry about getting a new book case and putting together and where will it go… Get a big basket to hold all your finds in it and let the kids explore!
